In the final seconds, unbridled joy broke out for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and provided the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to warm the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Glaring Contrast in Experience

On the home bench stood the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with an unparalleled CV for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, was a former coach at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and arrived to make his first-team debut after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
